- Client Selfridges & Co
- Project Selfridges Flagship store – Oxford Street
- Cost £ 4.5m
- Sector Retail
- Location Oxford Street, London
- Date Completed November 2001
- The Challenge
- Selfridges, in conjunction with Hosker Moore and Kent Architects, commissioned L&H Solutions to manage, co-ordinate and lead the design team for the phased refurbishment of their Flagship Oxford Street store. Works were scheduled for the following areas:
- •
Beachwear area;
• ‘Burberry’, ‘Prada’ and ‘Tanna Krolle’ concession areas;
• ‘Cherry Chau’ accessories and shopfittings;
• ‘David Clulow’ sunglasses kiosk;
• Feature spiral staircase & high-level gallery entrance;
• Ground floor Ladies Accessories & mezzanine café;
• Hosiery shopfitting units;
• Intimate apparel area on the third floor;
• Newly developed ‘Tomorrow’ area;
• New fitting rooms;
• ‘Wolford’ and ’La Perla’ concession units. - The Solution
- Works were carried out in four phases, all completed without the need to close the store and with minimal disruption to trade. The result extends the natural and unrefined look of the existing sales space - maintaining the unique visual quality of the store. L&H Solutions, alongside L&H Interiors and L&H Architecture have subsequently worked with Selfridges & Co and have created a new high tech 650 person Call Centre in Leicester for the relocation of the London based operation.
